We are planning a couple of hours clear up work party to make setting the SIHFT course at the end of the month easier. This should only take a couple of hours and is planned from 11am to 1pm on Saturday.
We will be
tidying up the plink / clearing out the lead that has built up round the plates etc.
prepping / cleaning targets
sorting strings
repairing brackets
litter picking
clearing out the hut
stripping out the target holders and back plate on the bench rest area to open possibilities for target setting beyond the back stop

As a general note we will only be strimming / cutting back on the course once we know where targets are going to avoid opening the wood up too much

Please lend a hand where you can

All the best

Charles

Could we not shut the woods and plink from 9 till 1 for a proper work party ? loads to do and it gives everyone the chance to get involved, don't think it's asking to much !!!!!

I am sure that at the AGM Mike said that he had some new people coming down at about 9.00am. if so may be it would be better to close from 10.30 till 1.30 so that way it will give mike chance to deal with the new ones

Many thanks to all who turned up to help - got plenty done,
the targets are all pulled in and we have put out some of the knock down knock up targets on concrete bases for anyone who wants a practice plink round the woods.
We have drilled out the 15mm, 20mm and 25mm back to full size as some plates were rather hammered closed!
The strings have all been stripped and new string wound on - more due to arrive this week so I will drop off Thursday / Friday is I can.
All the targets are in the shed.
We have moved the firing line around peg 3 and the Bench rest target frame has been stripped out which opens the whole area out considerably
If it has not been done the plink could still do with collecting the lead from under the plates and a general litter pick round the whole range.

Bench rest area looks much better without those fly-tipped rusty radiators, its a shame that discipline didnt take off, a bit like the bell target shooting and silhouettes.
